The disqualification of Ervin Salianjaj from the race for the leadership of the Democratic Party has no legal basis as he meets all the criteria, according to the statute of the Democratic Party. This was stated by Indrit Sefa, a legal expert who, during the leadership of the Democratic Party by Lulzim Basha, held the position of Legal Secretary of this party.
According to Sefa, self-exclusion is a term invented by Berisha since there is no exclusion decision for Salianji.
According to him, everything is done to minimize the risks that Berisha may face from competing with candidates worthy of being contenders for the leadership of the DP.
"Berisha's entire moral power is linked to the fact that he is undisputed, that he has no candidates."
"Berisha would be challenged after he lost the support of the Democrats, of the majority of the Democrats," Sefa told News24.
He then stated that for Alesia Balliu, who was a member of the FRPD, there is an expulsion decision, while in the case of Salianj there is not.
"A candidate in the race against Berisha is obliged, according to all the rules, to have his own members in the electoral commission, observers and members in the commission, meaning that each of them would have one more eye to see the regularity of the electoral process within the DP.
You can be sure that there would no longer be 44,000 voters in the elections, because observers and commissioners would be interested in holding an electoral process not to fill the ballot boxes, but with those people who would participate in the elections.
The political reason is, Berisha cannot risk being challenged within the DP. Berisha's entire moral power is linked to the fact that he is undisputed, that he has no candidates.
