On November 9, 2025, early elections will be held in 6 municipalities in Albania, while the biggest debate is for the Municipality of Tirana.
The Socialist Party has decided to run with the candidacy of Ogerta Manastirliu, while the opposition has not yet announced an official name, continuing discussions about the candidate.
Regarding this situation, the head of the LZHK, Dash Shehi, stated that the Democratic Party is unlikely to win these elections, but the united opposition may have a chance.
"Now, if you tell me the DP, it won't win. These are the numbers. The question is: is there a chance for the opposition to win? Yes, there is. I've said this too, don't waste this chance for your internal quarrels, because then it will become more difficult. After a year, two and a half years it will be even more difficult, because the people give up. This is not the French people, this is ours, they get used to evil. It's been 12 years, it's going to be 16. These people got used to Enver Hoxha, the opposition has a chance," said Shehi.
He stressed that the political motto of the opposition should be clear: “A political thing, as if to say: 'We are here to reclaim, to restart the Albanian opposition.' This should be the basic political concept.”
