According to the DP candidate in the May 11 elections, Ilirjana Kuçana, this is the opinion of the democrats at the grassroots level, not just of a few people in the party's leadership bodies.
" There were many names who were close to the Democrats, they were also in Rithemelim, this part is very important. We definitely need to unite the Democrats, I have always said it. But in no way should we promote them and give them positions... This is a concern that comes to me from the Democrats, not from Ilirjana ," Kuçana said on A2 CNN.
Asked why Gazmend Bardhi is not a unifying figure, Kuçana replied: " I think we need to have a moral, a political coherence. Because if we go before the Democrats and appoint those who were, we have done nothing. We initially accepted them when they came, without competition, we promoted them. They have not yet publicly apologized to the Democrats, they deserve it. At the National Council meeting, I was a supporter of this unification, but I cannot accept that they occupy the party and on the other hand go against the wishes of the Democrats ."
