The Tirana Criminal Court today released 7 minors arrested during the opposition protest on February 10, after clashes with law enforcement and the throwing of Molotov cocktails at them.
Following the Court's decision, which imposed the measure of "compulsory reporting" once a month, MP Flamur Noka and lawyer Eda Grimci accused the police of barbaric violence against minors. They claimed that the psychologist was also a police officer.
According to Noka, the young people stated in court that they were raped during their stay at the police station, describing their arrest and treatment as an act that does not occur in any democratic country.
He also denounced the fact that the psychologist presented for the minors turned out to be a police officer, describing this as a serious violation of legal standards.
Noka warned that the response to these acts will be taken at the protest on the 20th.
"On the 20th, the bandit will also receive the answer, all the bandits in uniform, and Edi Rama as the head of the narco-state," Noka concluded.
For her part, lawyer Grimci stated that the minors gave statements without the presence of their parents and were subject to pressure to appear as part of a structured group. She added that the arrests were carried out in the evening around 20:00, 21:00, while in the documentation they were reflected as having occurred at midnight, with the aim of keeping them in detention.
According to Grimci, during the escort, the minors were physically abused and their procedural rights were violated.
Opposition representatives describe the matter as a serious case of police abuse of power, while demanding a full investigation into the treatment of minors during arrest and detention at the police station.
