The new Mayor of Himara, Vangjel Tavo, has responded to Petro Gjikuri's statement. The latter said that the SP transformed the voter list and that the SP candidate serves Rama's interests.
In a reaction on social networks, Tavo says that he has been waiting for the opposition candidate's phone call to accept the public invitation to become the deputy mayor of the Municipality while adding that Himara is not a battlefield.
He teases him by inviting him to accept the invitation, so that, according to Tavos, he "doesn't go where he came from".
"Don't worry, because it is in safe hands and has the indisputable support of Edi Rama and the Socialist Party", writes Vangjel Tavo among others.
Today , Himara had a great reason to rejoice because she was the winner of August 4, just as I had and my heart is full of endless messages of congratulations from many, many residents of Himara, supporting her inside and outside. country.
But one more spark of this joy was your congratulatory phone call a few hours ago. I appreciated it very much and sincerely accepted it as an act of citizenship and the behavior of an open-minded Western man, but, without denying it, I also waited in the hope that you were calling me to accept my public invitation to join the program our manager of the Himara Municipality in the position of deputy mayor.
But, my high expectation of you lasted only a little and now I am sorry for your reaction, do you say that Himara is a battlefield where enemy armies face each other and not political and civic alternatives, as in all of democratic Albania.
I remind you, dear, that this time there were more voters in Himare than in years, when the government had postponed the expiration date of identity cards. And the result is what it is, a product of the free will of the citizens, while there were not, nor were there any thousands of voters who were denied the right, since the voting time has 99.99% gone with the dictatorship.
Yes, true! There were several tens of citizens, voters of yours and mine, who could not vote because of expired identity documents, for whom whoever listened to the call of the Ministry of the Interior and renewed it could even vote normally.
Therefore, dear Petro, I repeat my invitation to you not to leave the place you came from, if you stay with me at my side, in the position of deputy mayor.
I would be very honored if you would accept my proposal, and in the opposite case I wish you with all my heart a good journey to America and success there.
