Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with the Socialists in unit number 12, called for more organization on the ground for the 2027 local elections.
Rama said that the SP has the capacity to win more and in the polling centers where they do not win, this only happens because the SP is not organized properly.
"I believe that the SP has the capacity to do better and win more. There is no VC that the SP cannot win, but there are VCs where the SP does not win because it is not organized properly. There is no result that we cannot achieve, the results that we do not achieve come because we cannot do the job properly. We need this work and this effort, we have a greater duty than simply to ourselves. This reason is the historical opportunity that has come to our hands, the conditions have been created for us to see the door of Europe close and fully open. We have done a lot to get here, but it is not enough. We could have done everything and it is not enough, because the small country, the small people are not enough to do their best, others must also see it with a good eye. The stars of fate have aligned for reasons that they do not know how well we have worked, but they will take us inside. This is extraordinary. This moment is concrete. We must do our utmost so that the door closes only after we have entered inside", said Rama.
Rama also accused the opposition of acting against the national interest regarding the country's EU integration process.
At the SP Assembly in Unit 12, the Prime Minister emphasized that they are alone in the battle of integration, referring to the opposition, which he described as "blind".
According to him, others confuse the rivalry with the Socialist Party with the national interest and the good of the country in entering the European Union.
"Closing negotiations with the EU is closing accounts with the EU. The first step is Brussels, all the offices, the officials who deal with reforms, follow the measures and actions that occur and make a report for the second floor. They only report how the work has progressed or whether the tasks have been completed and then on the second floor are the member states. There are 27 countries that sit down to make a decision and the way it works is consensus. It is enough for one to say we don't want it, the decision is not obscured. Every EU decision is made by consensus.
"But today all countries say that we want to take Albania into the EU. But we need to understand that we are alone in this battle, we have bigger ones, I am the majority but alone. That others are against us and are so blind that they confuse opposition to us with the national interest and the common good of the country, of our children and of those who want us to seize this moment and enter the EU," said Rama.
