Jorida Tabaku: Dirty money is killing the economy of Albanians, young people

DP MP Jorida Tabaku has analyzed how the dirty money that comes from organized crime and that is being supported by the government is destroying the economy of Albanian families.

In a video message on Facebook, the democratic deputy takes as an example the destruction of the fashion industry, which accounts for 20% of "Made in Albania" exports, while today it risks putting 75,000 workers on the streets and leaving the same number of families without bread.

Tabaku said that the challenge that Albania has today is how someone with honest work, with investment, with real money, not the money of crime, can create a model of how the government can overcome the impasse it has entered.

According to her, young people who leave will no longer be statistics if it becomes a priority and a real economy model is created, not that of crime. Further, Tabaku analyzes how young people and the middle class need 50-60 years to buy an apartment due to the rising cost of dirty housing money.

"The government finally remembered that money laundering and the crime economy is killing the real economy. It was remembered that today young people, businesses, enterprises, construction and the entire economy are suffering as a result of money laundering. Today, it is impossible for a young Albanian to open a business, buy a house or have an apartment because he must compete with the dirty money that has entered the construction sector. A young person has to work for an average of 50 to 60 years to be able to buy an apartment in Tirana, while on the other hand an entire sector is being closed only as a result of the devaluation of the euro.

Today, the fashion sector, which has 20% of the export of Albanian products all over the world, is being closed because the economy of crime and money laundering is interfering there: in the real economy of businesses in the fashion sector. This is the real challenge facing Albania today! The challenge is how can someone with honest work, with investment, with real money not the money of crime, create a model of how the government can overcome the impasse it has entered, in the economic model that produces nothing but corruption, and focus on a model that invests in work, knowledge, technology. I am sure that we will no longer have statistics of young people who leave, only if it becomes a priority and we create a model of the real economy and not the economy of crime",  said Tabaku.
