During the meeting in Shkodra, a citizen who has lived in the US for 30 years said that he had only participated because it was organized by former MP Ervin Salianji.
The citizen said that he had lived in the US for 3 decades and that he had joined the meeting when he learned that the former Democratic MP was there and that the hall was filled with young people.
He said he would not do such a thing for either Berisha or Rama, although he clarified that he was not a party member.
Citizen : I have lived in the USA for 30 years, I come from a persecuted family. I am not a party member. When I saw all this youth entering here, I came when I found out it was you (addresses Salianj), I would not have come for Rama, nor for Berisha. I am not a party member, I am a nationalist, I love Albania and Albanians. In the USA I have welcomed Berisha, Rama, Lulzim Basha, Voltana Ademi, I have lobbied for the Albanian cause, I have lobbied with Clinton and the US Congress has praised me in front of 1200 Albanians.
For me, whoever is the best, democrat or socialist, may God give him the strength to take over the Albanian government. The time has come for our generation to sit down and leave the leadership to the young. Mr. Salianji, I have a word for you, we follow political issues there, it is not easy to get to where you started because these people have filled their pockets early and do not empty them easily, you are penniless and have made it difficult. But I am satisfied with this youth and I ask the youth to join you. Do not wait for America to come and do the work in our house, do it here.
