Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji spoke after the end of the meeting in the city of Durrës.
Salianji stated that the process of renewing the DP must be accelerated, which, according to him, was also demonstrated by the citizen participation in the meeting held today.
He emphasized that he has served the Democratic Party and that he will always be on the side of every democracy and citizen.
"What I said about the need to accelerate the process of renewing the DP, I believe was demonstrated in a hall that was overcrowded and that had endless people outside. This is an awakening for the DP."
Many of the important figures have not been contacted in the last 7 months and I thank every democrat who was here, the entire senior structure of the Democratic Party elected by vote for the Durrës branch who was here.
"We were asked by friends to hold the meeting here and we were present. I am always on the side of the citizens and the democrats. I have been in prison for the DP. Many of us here have sacrificed our jobs and finances, and have endured repression," Salianji told "A2 CNN."
