MP Eno Bozdo declared in Parliament that Albania is facing an oil crisis, while asking the responsible minister to provide explanations for the lack of security reserves in the country.
During his speech, Bozdo stressed that Albania does not have strategic fuel reserves and that the current situation puts the country in a difficult position. He also criticized high fuel prices and accused the government of burdening citizens with taxes.
The DP MP also described the Transparency Board as a "mockery", saying that the mechanism has not brought any solutions to citizens.
"It is painful to see that Albania does not own a single gram of oil in the security reserve and not to think that perhaps we may receive a request from the relevant institutions to release this request. Today we do not even have security reserves. While the crisis continues, we are looking up to the sky, hoping that this crisis will be resolved. The Prime Minister was forced to lie because the truth is that we are in a state of panic and this makes us look very bad towards ourselves and the EU. The price of fuel has gone into the stratosphere and the crisis has taken its toll. But the draft law, whenever it is approved, will not solve anything. How will you finance the Security Reserves Authority? We have the most expensive oil in the world, we have the most burdensome fiscal structure that goes to fill the government's pockets," he said.
