Today's parliamentary session was also accompanied by criticism within the ranks of the majority, where the focus was placed on public education.
SP MP Erion Braçe raised concerns regarding the delay in the question-and-answer session with Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro, regarding the "Edit Durham" school, a completed building that has not yet been put into operation.
Braçe stressed that on February 2, he filed a request for a question-and-answer session with the Minister of Education. He said that several weeks have passed, while the Assembly's Rules of Procedure provide for a maximum period of three weeks.
The core of the criticism is related to the fact that a completed school is not opening, while 1,700 students are attending classes in shifts. Braçe had also filed a request for information a few weeks ago regarding the extension of the works and the reasons for the building's non-functioning, demanding concrete institutional responsibility.
He ironized the way time is distributed in the Assembly, emphasizing the contrast between political debate and concrete problems on the ground.
"On February 2, I filed a request for a question-and-answer session with the Minister of Education. Next week is green week, more than 4 weeks have passed since the request. I see that the minister is here and I understand that it is a problem of Parliament. The 'Edit Durham' school, although it is finished, is not in operation. Time is being wasted on issues outside the agenda, and for important issues, time is rationed. The maximum deadline given to me by the Regulation is 3 weeks, not 4. 1700 students automatically go to the second shift. Parliamentary control cannot be used rationed", declared Braçe.
Among other things, Braçe stated that there are a series of requests for information and that the legal deadlines have been exhausted by the Tax Directorate and the National Agency for Unemployment Insurance, while warning of criminal charges.
"I have a series of requests for information. Every deadline with Taxes and the National Unemployment Insurance Fund has expired, we will move towards a criminal complaint to obtain information ," he said.
