The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has leveled accusations against the socialist majority during his speech in the Assembly, stating that the SP deputies are protecting Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
According to Berisha, the Socialists are taking legal initiatives to protect, as he put it, "a thief branded in front of Albanians."
"You have taken on an impossible mission. What you are doing, who has done it? You are ready to change laws to protect a thief who has been branded before Albanians as the main thief of the Nation. One of the most important in the history of Europe. He is abusing you to the most extreme degree. You are supposedly looking at me with anger," Berisha declared.
He further added that, according to him, Socialist MPs hold a different stance in the presence of foreign representatives.
"These Lubia lawyers in the courtroom, they keep their mouths shut when they are in front of foreigners. I can give you the records if you want. They sit like chickens. And here they are inciting you towards a real crime. Crime in progress! Ask them what they said in the presence of foreigners. Not a word! They kept repeating in their ears that they would lift their immunity," Berisha said.
