The municipal council of Shkodra has approved the 2024 budget and the medium-term draft budget 2024-2026 with 31 votes in favor and 12 votes against.
The budget, the first of the socialists at the head of the Shkodër municipality, is worth 2.6 billion lek and is oriented towards investments and services, projecting the Shkodër municipality towards strengthening the economy, social-cultural development.
During his speech, the mayor Benet Beci emphasized that large investments will be made in cooperation with the government and donors, to turn Shkodra into an important economic center for the region.
The opposition unanimously voted against and called the whole process a lack of transparency, since the material was submitted within the time limits. But despite the vote against, the majority in the council of SP and PSD gave the green light to this document that will be passed for approval in the prefecture of Shkodra.
