The Democratic Party filed with the CEC the request for registration of the coalition "Democratic Party - Alliance for a Greater Albania", with the initials "DP-ASHM", a few minutes before the legal deadline for registering coalitions for the May 11 parliamentary elections expired.
The coalition includes 26 parties, including Shpëtim Idrizi's PDIU, which 'surrendered' in the last hours, accepting only the offer of Sali Berisha's Democrats, to have only 1 safe candidate on the list of deputies.
As he had declared, Berisha has managed to create the largest quantitative coalition, aligning 25 parties behind the DP, regardless of their electoral weight. Among Berisha's allies is the Albanian National Alliance and Gjet Ndoj. The latter in 2013 was in the coalition led by Edi Rama, even having the role of coordinator between him and the parties that at that time aligned themselves with Edi Rama.

Even many of those parties have now aligned themselves with Berisha, but Ndoj has not received from the leader of the DP any 'office' to coordinate relations between the largest opposition party and its allies. Berisha has entrusted this task to Flamur Noka, the Secretary General of the DP, who also led the negotiations between this party and other entities that were included in the 'DP-ASHM' coalition.
