The Electoral College's decision to reject the request of former Democratic Party (DP) candidate for deputy Aulon Kalaj for a recount of votes has brought an immediate reaction from him.
In a statement, Kalaja described the decision as unfair and politically dictated, accusing the members of the Electoral College of acting unilaterally.
"A shameful decision, made without reviewing our 13-page appeal and without giving us the opportunity to be heard as the plaintiff," said Kalaja.
He added that despite this decision, his battle for vote transparency will not stop, warning of legal action in higher instances.
"See you at SPAK and the Constitutional Court," concluded Kalaja.
The former candidate for MP has described the members of the Electoral College as robots, who were programmed not to open the boxes in the Durrës District.
"The Electoral College made a shameful decision and not based on the law. In the meantime, my battle will continue in SPAK and the Constitutional Court. I will not back down."
Today the so-called Electoral College, without even reading my 13-page complaint and without even listening to us, as the plaintiff, decided not only to disqualify me as a candidate in the process, but also to disqualify the PLL, which enabled the opening of a portion of the boxes in the Durrës District, at least a little.
They were not judges, but robots, who had been programmed not to open the boxes of Durrës District. I don't know where to complain and justice has become an illusion.
So today I have a few questions:
1- Why wasn't the Durrës Region completely recounted like Tirana and Fier?!
2- Why was it decided that out of the 593 boxes that Durrës Region has, 290 would be recounted and then 152 boxes were recounted?
3- Why was the recount canceled in Durrës Region?! What's behind it?! Who ordered it?!
4- Why did the CEC withdraw from the recount when my margin narrowed by over 100 votes?!
5- Why did the KAS refuse to open the unrecognized boxes while I presented 8 new videos as evidence?!
6- Do I have the right to know how many votes I received?! Once they told me that I received 8120, and now they tell me that I received 8135 votes. But I am proud of one thing, that I did not steal a single vote, on the contrary, they robbed me of votes. Out of respect for the citizens who trusted me, I will go to the end.
I would have asked these questions and many more to the Electoral College today, but they closed their ears and eyes and turned into robotic judges who only see their own problems and do not provide justice. They do not even read the complaints. We pay them for this, right?!
