What began as an alliance to overthrow the establishment has degenerated into a tragicomedy.
We are talking about the Weaving Initiative and Albania Becomes, two new parties, which were seen as the future of the country and the "weapons" to overthrow the SP and the DP. But winning only one mandate as an MP has become a bone of contention between them, this and because of a formula that their leaders themselves introduced, by inserting fictitious names into the closed list.
Lapaj and Shabani declared that those on the closed list would resign and the mandate would be assigned to the open race. But the situation has changed. So far we have two names from the closed list who want the mandate and most likely, the only one who will benefit is the candidate who ranks first in Tirana, Ana Dajko. Legally, the mandate should have passed to her and then she decides whether to hand it over or not.
But who is Ana Dajko? She is from Saranda, is 60 years old and has a secondary education. Dajko is Adriatik Lapaj's aunt. According to the CV submitted to the CEC, she is self-employed.
