Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has again commented on the Special Anti-corruption Commission.
During the speech held at the civic gathering, Berisha said that the 'Xhafaj' commission is the greatest hypocrisy of the times.
Berisha described the voting of this commission by the majority in the Assembly as the darkest week for the Albanian parliament.
Part of Sali Berisha's speech:
Dear friends, this week was a dark, black week for the Albanian parliament.
This week, the parliament decided to set up the Xhafa commission against corruption.
The greatest hypocrisy of all time is associated with the Ministry of Virtue of the Taliban of Afghanistan.
My friends, the battle against corruption and theft of Albanians is a battle for the existence of the nation.
In the conditions when Albania, every prime minister who felt unsullied, immaculate, handed over the first act of the anti-corruption commission to the opposition.
The opposition should lead it, the opposition should decide.
Who does corruption?
Corruption is done by those in power. Governors and officials do it.
Which opposition am I talking about?
Dear friends, in the history of this country, the DP's battle against corruption will remain one of the most successful battles in the history of a country.
Let me remind you that forgetfulness is normal.
Upon coming to power in 2005, PD undertook a zero-tolerance battle against crime and corruption.
This party amended the law of conflict of interest, the law which never allowed the rulers to share public assets with family members, with each other, with their circle.
PD took the administration out of the conflict of interest.
Set up the digital procurement system.
This system alone reduced the cost of public procurement by 40 percent.
