The Speaker of the Parliament of Bulgaria, Rossen Jeliazkov, during a press conference with the Speaker of the Assembly of Albania, Lindita Nikolla, expressed Bulgaria's support for Albania's EU membership.
Jeliazkov said that "Albania has the unwavering support of Bulgaria" and that it is one of the only countries in the region, according to him, that fulfills all its foreign policy obligations.
"Albania is the champion of the region, fulfills all foreign policy obligations. It has an unwavering position regarding the War in Ukraine and regional initiatives," he said.
Among other things, the Bulgarian Speaker announced that within a year there will be a regular airline between Albania and Bulgaria.
"The conclusions of the European Commission regarding Albania's front indicators are supported by us. Albania has the unwavering support of Bulgaria. According to us, the principle should be its own merits. Albania is the champion of the region, fulfills all foreign policy obligations. It has an unwavering position on the War in Ukraine and regional initiatives. We also talked about the opportunities for promoting investments and the opportunities that corridor number 8 will give us. We also talked about the fact that within a year we will have a regular airline. This will give another potential for tourism and encourage the reef of goods. We received confirmation for guaranteeing the rights of the Bulgarian minority in Albania. We support even more Albania's journey to the EU. Today we are satisfied with the opportunities and to develop the political dialogue and we will continue the communication at the parliamentary level, for the intensification of relations and connections between our countries", said Rossen Jeliazkov.
