The Democratic Party is holding a National Assembly meeting today, which will approve changes to the statute, but will also vote for new members of the National Council.
The proceedings of the National Assembly will also be welcomed by one of the DP allies, considered a personal friend of Sali Berisha, the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic. The latter is one of the few leaders of EU member states who has maintained very good relations with Berisha, despite being designated as "non grata" by the US and the UK. Prime Minister Plenkovic's party is part of the EPP, the largest political grouping in Europe, to which the DP also belongs.
Other international guests are expected to attend the DP National Assembly, who will address delegates with messages and video greetings.
This year's Assembly is centered on the concept of "Renewal", a message related to the process of reforming and modernizing the party.
