In Unit 5 of Tirana, the vote counting process has been suspended since 22:00. The cause, according to CEAZ officials, is the fatigue of the Democratic Party's counters, who have left to eat. Meanwhile, the Socialist Party representatives continue to stand at the counting tables waiting for the process to resume.
This development has raised questions about the organization and preparation of the opposition to face such an important electoral process, in an area where the result could affect the overall political balance.
By the time of the break, 44 boxes out of 96 in total had been counted. Preliminary results show a clear advantage for the Socialist Party:
SP – 7,570 votes
DP – 4,538 votes
Opportunity – 1,113 votes
Together Movement – 725 votes
Initiative / Albania Becomes – 535 votes
PSD – 334 votes
Euro-Atlantic Alliance – 203 votes
The resumption of the counting process is expected within a few hours, although it remains unclear whether there will be sufficient momentum to complete it within the set deadlines.
