The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, was received with a high state ceremony by his Albanian counterpart, Bajram Begaj, where the anthems of the two countries were performed and then the passage was made in front of the bodyguard of honor.
The French head of state arrived on Monday afternoon in Tirana, while he was received by Prime Minister Edi Rama at the Palace of the Brigades.
After the meeting with Begaj, Macron will go to the prime minister's office, where he will sign an economic and cooperation agreement between the two countries with the Albanian government. At 11:30 a press conference with Rama is expected.
Macron arrived in Tirana the day before and started his first official visit with a ceremony at the Palace of Brigades where he presented the great Albanian writer Ismail Kadare with the highest decoration of the Republic of France "Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor".
