The Secretary General of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, has spoken about the conditions in which PL president Ilir Meta has been held since the moment of his arrest.
He stated that Meta is not allowed to meet with anyone other than family members, and is not even allowed to communicate by phone with party leaders, which complicates the process.
"The Freedom Party is led by President Ilir Meta, despite his legal status. The way he is led is certainly not easy. We have no way to meet Mr. Meta, we have been deprived of the right to communicate by phone. We communicate by letter, or Meta should not meet his family and meet the deputies. I have an authorization from the SPAK prosecutor to meet with him in a limited manner, but I am not allowed to do so.
"For 7 months, we are not even allowed to talk on the phone. When I met Meta, he sacrificed the meeting with his family to meet the party leaders. We are not even allowed to bring him books to read, the family has to send them. Mandela was allowed to play tennis, Meta is not even allowed to train ," he said on the show "This Week" on News24.
