The chairman of the official Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, today convened the National Council that came out of the Assembly on September 2 to choose the new structures of the leadership dome.
Today, Basha officially dismissed the general secretary, Gazment Bardhi, and chooses four new party leaders.

After last week's National Assembly, today we take another important step for the Democratic Party, the formatting of the party's statutory forums. This step gives new impetus to our political action, which for a long time left our primary duty, that of being at the service of the democrats, the citizens, Albania.
We know that at no time have we given up the responsibility that keeps us in politics, and we have even sacrificed a lot together to protect the values that unite us in this big family. But when the noise of the crash becomes louder than the voice of reason, we all lose.
We wasted precious time dealing with problems that have nothing to do with people's concerns but with the personal concerns and problems of a few politicians, who to cover their evil, are ready to destroy the common good.
Dear members of the Council, You are witnesses and executors of the will of the delegates of September 2, who with their vote chose another political model.
This model is divided with hypocrisy, with incoherence, with double standards, which have disgusted the citizen from the politics of facade, intrigue, arrogance, deception and personal benefits.
Democrats and all Albanians expect and deserve a completely different model, of politics attentive to the people and not obsessed with their own personal fate, of a sensitive and compassionate politics, a politics of the people and for the people, that listens to them and gives solutions to their problems.
After the National Assembly, the countdown has started for all of us," said Basha.
