For the head of the Movement for National Development (LZHK), Dashamir Shehi, the "house arrest" of Sali Berisha and the arrest of Ilir Meta have a negative impact on the opposition.
In an interview for "ABC News", Shehi said that there are no more untouchables and that everyone must answer. Among other things, Shehi stated that the opposition should offer alternatives and new political figures.
" I am taking the last, loudest case of Mr. Meta. I didn't like the way they took it. In a European civil state, there are professional ways. I think that, as long as a person has not been judged in his definitive form as the law has, he is considered innocent.
Anyone who receives an arrest warrant, the organs of the Albanian state, must respect it, go away, answer there, this is our country, with all its defects. There is no public trial in the media, for matters of a criminal or administrative nature. There is a trial for political issues, political opinions. If we are going to infect the political and media environment only with these topics, there is no product here. Albania will never become a republic of prosecutors. There are no more untouchables, everyone must answer. It has two sides, it has its own negative side, some characters are from the opposition, there may be others in the future. There are as many of these others as you want.
It can positively influence both sides. I hope they are innocent. We must offer new alternatives, new figures. All these new parties, if we join together, produce great synergy. Now let's look at it. The moment is historic. Our task is to remove the socialist government, Edi Rama. The way to vote with an open list" , he emphasized.
