Following the conclusion of the May 11 parliamentary elections and the declaration of victory for the Socialist Party, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has sent a congratulatory message to her Albanian counterpart, Edi Rama, congratulating him on his reconfirmation as head of the government. She becomes the first European leader to congratulate him.
In her message, Meloni underlines the close relationship between Albania and Italy, emphasizing that cooperation between the two countries will continue to deepen.
“ I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Edi Rama on his reconfirmation as head of the Albanian government.
The deep friendship and strategic cooperation that binds our two nations has been further strengthened thanks to joint initiatives, the result of constructive dialogue and a shared desire to respond to global challenges with innovative solutions.
"We will continue to work to further strengthen the bond between our two governments and achieve common objectives, including strengthening stability in the Balkans and advancing Albania's European path ," Meloni's congratulatory message reads.
