The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, has stated that the DP does not need internal conflicts and debates.
In a statement to the media, Bardhi said that the division is not in the best interest of the democrats and that it only serves Prime Minister Edi Rama and "his regime". Further, he emphasized that there can be no compromise for the dissolution of the Democratic Party, while adding that the battle between the deputies is to return to the governing alternative.
"The path we have started cannot resemble the fictitious processes that have damaged the DP in the past. This is an ugly and unconstitutional history that must not be repeated in the Democratic Party. At this moment PD needs prudence, not conflict, reflection not hatred. It needs different thinking and not new exceptions. Who does another conflict in DP serve? Why are provocations and deviations from the statute that divide us, when today we should be together. Who cares about this division? I can say for sure that it is clear that this is not the best interest of the democrats and Albania. A DP that loses in internal debates only interests Edi Rama and his regime.
This attitude does not serve me. It would be easy to play the role to get a post, but I assure you that we neither have nor will we compromise for the dissolution of the Democratic Party. There is no compromise on this. The battle of my colleagues has only one goal, to stand in front of the government and to return to the governing alternative", said Bardhi.
