Deputy Agron Shehaj has started the creation of a new political force, after leaving the Democratic Party.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, Shehaj said he saw no future in DP and his decision came after the very poor result in the May 14 elections.
"As in 2017 when I entered politics and as in 2021 when I ran against Basha, I believed that the DP must change to become an alternative. I tried within the DP to give my contribution, as much as I could, for this change. After the last elections, despite the bad and unfair conditions, I did not see any hope for this change.
I see more than a sinking ship, in PD I see a ship heading for the rocks. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see a future there, nor the possibility of creating a credible alternative. I don't want to wish DP bad luck, because it is the party I was in, but I think it is not the right way. I think differently and that's why I decided to leave," Shehaj said.
Shehaj stated that he communicated his departure from the party to Sali Berisha, after the results of the elections on May 14.
