The US is giving Saliu a "headache", Kim has not only not been dismissed, but has taken a high position...
The US State Department has called Sali Berisha and all the media on his side. Yesterday and the day before yesterday, celebrations broke out in the Democratic Party, after everyone declared that Trump had dismissed Yuri Kim from the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
Kim's biography was also removed from the official DASH website. Some media outlets went so far as to report that the latter had accepted a negotiated departure to escape investigation.
But a bombshell has come from across the Atlantic. The State Department has republished Yuri Kim's biography and announced that she has taken on a new assignment. Kim has been named Senior Advisor for Efficiency and Accountability in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
“ Yuri Kim is the Senior Advisor for Efficiency and Accountability in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. Previously, Ambassador Kim was the Bureau’s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary from 2023 to 2025. A career diplomat, Ambassador Kim has worked on major foreign policy and national security challenges in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She was the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Albania from 2020 to 2023, nominated by President Trump and continued under President Biden ,” the biography states.
This move seems to be a "headache" for Berisha. Democrats thought Trump had dumped Kim, but they forget that he was the one who brought her as ambassador to Tirana, as specified above. Her presence at the State Department also dashes Berisha's hopes of getting rid of the "women's name."
