From prison, he asks to swear again, Fredi Beleri begs the Constitution: To

Fredi Beleri requests the speeding up of the decision by the Constitutional Court regarding his request to be sworn in as the mayor of the Municipality of Himara.

Beleri was arrested in May 2023 on the charge of "active corruption in elections carried out in cooperation", in the local elections of that year.

Since then, he has repeatedly sought permission from the Court to be sworn in as the mayor of Himara, after winning the elections.

This time, Beleri addresses the Constitutional Court with a plea, seeing his request as unresolved, even though official Athens intervened in the middle of the case.

"I appeal to you, who are the guardians of the Constitution, to listen to my prayer and that of the residents of Himara to set a date as soon as possible for the judgment of my request, seeing that a long time has passed since 1 year that the central government has violated the right of elections in Himare", it is stated, among others, in Beler's request.

In his request, Beleri states that his Constitutional right to perform the formal oath procedure and officially receive the mandate has been violated.
