Prime Minister Edi Rama has put the ministers and deputies in anxiety. The Congress of the Socialist Party will be held tomorrow, but unlike other times, this time there is no official information on what will happen.
Apart from the fact that the Assembly of the SP will be voted on and the government and the organization of the party will be discussed, no work agenda has been released. The deputies themselves have been notified to participate, but even they do not know for sure what awaits them.
According to the information, in addition to the voting of the members of the Assembly, which will be a formal vote, since the deputies and mayors are automatically part, the scheme for the selection of candidates for the 2025 elections will be revealed.
During the last meeting of the SP Assembly, Rama warned that he will present a new scheme, not taking over the selection of candidates alone. In the last elections, for example, a "Deputy we want" portal was opened and anyone could apply there. Some of the applicants were put on the lists, while the veterans were left out.
" At the Congress, we will also present the new platform for the selection of SP deputies, starting from the experience of the past elections, where, as you remember, we created for the first time a platform called "The Deputy We Want" and gathered a number not small for the sake of truth, expression of interest to become part of the selection of SP deputies. Some of those young people who appeared on that platform also became part of the lists. But in the next elections the platform will be broader and will foresee a more articulated process, and it is good to give ourselves the time needed by Congress until the moment when the final selection of the list of candidates for deputies will be made ", said Rama in the Assembly a few days ago.

Each party will have two lists of candidates, one closed and one open. The closed list contains names that automatically become MPs, while the open list has competition within the party. Many are afraid that Rama will add to the open list those who he sees as redundant in the SP and who should open their arms. They can also find themselves and those who have started to create clans and oppose. Let's not forget that in the last elections, Rama left Xhafaj, Kodheli and Majko outside the red line. Only Xhafaj broke the quotient, the others got in thanks to the machinations and submission of mandates by other names.
There is also anxiety in the ranks of the ministers. Yesterday, Lindita Nikolla resigned as Speaker of the Assembly, a decision that caught the socialists by surprise. However, her departure may be a signal that there will be changes in the government tomorrow. " As soon as Rama dismissed him, Nikola ran away by himself ", say the critical voices.
