Prime Minister Edi Rama once again responds to criticisms about the Tragjas water supply, which is expected to supply water to the tourist area of Dhërmi and Palasë.
While presenting the National Water Production Operator, Prime Minister Rama said that the government has no dark intentions to take water away from residents and give it to oligarchs. Statements that he calls nothing more than conspiracies and political fantasies.
"Everyone will understand that the water sources of the Republic of Albania are not the sources of the one who has them closest, they are the water sources of the Republic of Albania. In the Republic of Albania, there are no lucky people who have the water close by and unlucky people who have the source far away. As I have explained to many residents of Tragjas, it is not even discussed that it does not exist in any other world, except in the world of conspiracies and political, media fantasies, or around the table drinking raki, for the Albanian government, the ministry, to take water from some to give it to others.
Those who get up and talk, there are some who speak fake English about Vjosa, and how we are drying up a source of Shushica to quench the thirst of our people and how we are drying up a branch of the river to supply drinking water to the inhabitants of Himara. They do not understand that they receive funds for this work, but they should know that the priority is the water supply of the population. In the best possible balance with nature, neither in the case of Shushica nor Tragjas is it about irresponsible investments to dry it up. Respecting the people there, for 9 months, day by day, we have made the entire monitoring report of the source, the figures are so stubborn and full of meaning, that there is no question that the project was right, not that it was a project financed by the government, but made on the basis of monitoring the source. The government does not have dark intentions, we do not take water away from people to give it to the oligarchs. "There are no oligarchs in Albania, this doesn't matter," Rama said.
The head of government also criticized the protests in Tragjas over water.
"Today, the Tragjas water supply is being built. There was no water and they were screaming about the spring, as if a skunk had come to dry up the spring where they drank water from," he added.
