Prime Minister Rama, while speaking about the treatment of urban waste, criticized Albanian citizens who throw garbage on the streets.
He stated that it is not tourists who throw garbage on the streets, but “Albanians.” Rama emphasized that these individuals stop to take pictures at panoramic points to show the beauties of Albania, but on the other hand, they pollute it by throwing garbage on the ground.
"It is important to understand that in this process of increasing water production, waste treatment and increasing the amount of green space in public spaces within cities, there is a bright side. There is also a dark side of the moon that has to do with those who become obstacles to these processes by stealing water, throwing garbage on the road... Albanians, Albanians, because a foreign tourist does not do this. Albanians who drive, Albanians from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia do it. Albanians who stop on the side of the highway, take pictures and take the garbage out of the car and throw it there.
"You have them photographed, even panoramic points to take selfies 'How good you are, my Albania', even piles of garbage thrown there. Even the photos with beer there at sunset, even bottles thrown on the ground... Goodbye, my Albania, see you next summer. These are situations that need solidarity and drastic measures from the government, but also an increase in the contribution of the people ," said Rama.
