Pampuri mocks Berisha: He promised to fill the squares, but hope does not come

The vice president of the Democratic Party, Orjola Pampuri, has ironized former Prime Minister Berisha, who is under "house arrest". She says that every night she gives a speech from the window of the apartment, while below the palace the last remaining militants of the Reestablishment gather.

Referring to Berisha's speeches that trumpeted the filling of the squares, he says that change does not come by narrowing down an alley, and even less for a personal cause.

"That part of the opposition that hoped to make the change was not just an alley but the big square of hope to fill the squares for the cause of change and not just for one cause. All trumpets should not be narrowed in an alley, hope does not come from the alley but by filling the squares. I think that seeing Berisha as an important figure of the PD, I would not like to see him there and that the whole thing was not a battle for Berisha but for all the problems of Albanians", said Pampuri for "Report TV".

She also commented on the initiative of the small parties to have an "opposition federation", but gave a firm answer on behalf of the DP, underlining that there will be no union with persons who have been declared non grata, implying the Reestablishment of Sali Berisha.

"We have also heard statements from representatives about mergers, but they do not know what merger is. They still don't understand why we broke up. The door of DP is open to anyone who has no responsibility before the law, who is not accused of corruption and who is clean. Time has shown that mechanical unions have led nowhere. It was the case for the elections in Kukës. When mergers do not take place on the basis of principles and causes they cannot succeed. Unions like the one in the Kukës elections are ridiculous and just to throw it in the eyes of the Albanians. These statements are acts that are simply political rhetoric" , said Pampuri.

The MP let it be understood that she was also against the behavior of Reestablishment, which even in the first session of the new parliamentary session, "inherited" the old scenario of violence initially orchestrated by Berisha.

"In such situations, the president must be impartial. In the concrete case, any war against the president is thought of as a battle against the institution of the president. The president is an institution and must be respected as an institution", said Pampuri, commenting on the fact that President Bajram Begaj could not deliver a speech in the plenary session due to the situation created by the Re-establishment.
