The duo Meta-Berisha have decided to return the protests to the squares of Tirana.
The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, spoke to the journalists after the meeting with Sali Berisha, Meta said that he welcomes the efforts of the opposition to unify the opposition action. He said that the focus will be the return of accountability, while also warning of protests.
" We are in these circumstances when government scandals, corruption are overlapping one another, economic problems are aggravated and that brings the phenomenon of leaving. It is the duty of the opposition to restore the State of Law, Democracy and accountability. This includes parliamentary engagement. I welcome any effort to unify the potential of the opposition. We are in contact with all interest groups. We are everywhere where commitment and contribution is required. The PL branch in Kukës has been active. Our MPs are every day on the front line of confronting this regime.
No discussion that there will be protest dates, but that is not the most important thing. I am not here to deal with technical procedures, the opposition must rise to the height of the moment to respond to all these challenges that have brought such a difficult situation" , said Meta.
Asked if he would agree with Sali Berisha nominating Gazment Bardhi as a candidate for prime minister in the 2025 elections, Meta said that he only wants to respect every democratic principle.
