The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, during his meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, emphasized the importance of integration into the European Union as a mission and national interest.
Begaj called this process a 35-year dream that unites generations and Albanian society.
He underlined that Albania is committed to necessary reforms, not only as a duty, but to improve the well-being and prosperity of its citizens.
Also, Begaj added that the country remains fully committed to the EU's foreign and security policy and will continue to contribute to European missions for peace and stability.
The President mentioned that EU membership is not seen as a gift, but as a merit and investment in the stability of Europe.
