The head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, said that the continuation of the protests will lead to the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama from power.
Bardhi states that the civic response and non-submission to, as he calls it, "violence and intimidation," makes the country's future more secure and increases hope for change.
The group leader also mentioned the dismissal of the General Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, describing him as a symbol of organized crime.
According to Bardhi, these movements show the effect of public pressure on the government and emphasizes that the opposition's ultimate objective remains Rama's removal.
"When citizens react and do not succumb to violence and intimidation, Albania's future becomes even more secure, the hope for change even greater.
In just 1 month of non-stop protest, Edi Rama was forced to dismiss two of the pillars of his power: (1) the symbol of corruption Belinda Balluku and (2) the symbol of collaboration with organized crime Ilir Proda. Continuing the resistance will bring about the realization of the final objective: The removal of Edi Rama, the architect of the governance based on endemic corruption and collaboration with organized crime.
"Thank you for the resistance, the reaction and the sacrifice. We continue together until Edi Rama leaves and then build together a government at the service of the citizens, which stems from free and fair elections," Bardhi wrote on Facebook.
