The Assembly of Albania has failed to collect the necessary votes to send to the Constitutional Court the decision on the incompatibility of the mandate of MP Olta Xhaçka.
The Assembly voted with 25 votes in favor, 65 abstentions and 9 against, failing to reach the simple majority of 71 votes needed to send the case to the Constitutional Court. During the voting, 38 deputies present in the hall did not vote. Deputy Xhaçka, although she was present, did not participate in the vote.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Elisa Spiropali, after the vote, declared that the matter will be passed to the Venice Commission for consideration.
Meanwhile, the head of the democratic parliamentary group Gazment Bardhi has described the decision of the majority in the Assembly as unacceptable.

This was the third time that the Assembly was called to vote on the request of 1/10 of the deputies to send the mandate of the deputy Olta Xhaçka for review to the Constitutional Court.
In the session on Thursday, the changes in the budget were also approved. Normative act for the order of doctors. Amendments to the laws on fishing, inspections and electronic government were also approved by a simple majority.
