Why doesn't even the German CDU agree to remove Saliu's 'non

The spokesman for European affairs of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, Gunther Krichbaum, has strongly condemned yesterday's protest in Tirana.

Sali Berisha seems to be surrounded from all four sides. The USA and Great Britain have declared it "non grata", but it seems that the Germans have done the same, in order not to go to the EPP, where they have a leading role.

We are talking about the CDU/CSU, who do not agree at all with the movements and behavior of Saliu. Since he was declared unwanted by the Anglo-Saxons, the CDU/CSU distanced itself from him and made it clear that the DP has no future with Berisha. However, even now that he has received the stamp and is legitimately at the head of the DP, they still do not want him, keeping the "non-women" rule in force.

The spokesman for European affairs of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, Gunther Krichbaum, has strongly condemned yesterday's protest in Tirana.

" Peaceful demonstrations against the actions of a government are normal in a democracy. However, violent acts are completely unacceptable and completely unworthy of a candidate for EU membership. If Berisha still has a shred of credibility, he should immediately distance himself from this kind of protest and expel the perpetrators from the party. Unfortunately, there is a suspicion that Berisha is instigating these protests. In the past, DP has been a party that relied on European values. Unfortunately, it has moved further and further away from these values ," he said.

According to him, rightly, the European People's Party (PPE) and the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag keep a distance from this opposition party and especially from its leader, Sali Berisha, who is under house arrest.

" That's why the next few days will be crucial to see if the party has the power to renew itself ," said Krichbaum.

According to him, PD needs an honest figure at the head. " Just as a democracy needs a strong government, it also needs a strong opposition. Trying to present the best concepts and arguments should always happen non-violently. The fact that this has not been possible so far is largely Mr. Berisha's responsibility ," added Krichbaum.

" He should not be presented as a victim of an alleged and politically motivated process. The SPAK, which placed him under house arrest, is beyond doubt. After all, the SPAK was created under pressure from "Given the seriousness of the charges, Berisha would have been placed in detention in any EU country and not in a comfortable house arrest ," concluded Krichbaum.
