The Albanian public, especially outside the territory of North Macedonia, could not coldly and reflectively absorb the appointment of the first Albanian prime minister in Skopje, Telat Xhaferit.
This is because, almost immediately, or even before the news happened, an unbridled delirium started from a number of politicians and journalists in Tirana and Pristina, who made so much noise that there was no opportunity for analysis.
Of course, all this noise is made for one reason only; to give as much support as possible to "Baba" from Zajazi, Ali Ahmet, to win as many points as possible in the May elections.
Where he aims to win the majority of the Albanian vote again, after 20 years, remaining as the longest-serving Albanian in power.
The support that the strong powers of Tirana and Prishtina are giving to "Abas Gjuka" as he is nicknamed "Dad" of the DUI is legitimate, even if it is quite fake, but the exaggeration actually hides the fact that we are dealing with an event that it doesn't deserve all this hype.
Talat Xhaferi is indeed the first Albanian prime minister in North Macedonia, but he is the prime minister of a technical government that will last until May, June at the most.
In fact, it is technically speaking, since Mr. Xhaferi is a political prime minister, for as many votes as possible for his party that has not fallen from power since 2006.
The fact that North Macedonia has an Albanian prime minister for the first time should not be overlooked, and this fact was expected as it was in the agreement that DUI signed with SDSM after the last elections. As the thesis of the Albanian Prime Minister was also the main electoral weapon of Ali Ahmeti in the past elections.
But the fact is that this movement could be a political boomerang, or a kamikaze act, to make Macedonians mobilize even more in their hatred of Albanians. In fact, this is the goal of Ali Ahmeti, to turn the campaign into an ethnic duel with VRMO-DPMNE and to give the Albanian opposition parties there, the stain of traitors who are opposing the Albanian Prime Minister.
But only this, since in reality Talat Xhaferi did not come as an Albanian prime minister, but as a cadre of DUI. We had a similar case, where an Albanian from Ulcinj, Dritan Abazovic, became Prime Minister of Montenegro for 3 years, only as a result of his political power. Today, Montenegro, also thanks to that policy, has more Albanians in institutions.
The propaganda that is being made today from Tirana and Pristina in favor of Ali Ahmeti is more than tired. It is unnecessary. If Ali Ahmeti loses the elections in North Macedonia, there is an Albanian opposition that opposes him to the core, and it will come to power with the same ethnic weapons. The question would be whether the Albanians have the right prime minister who has given them an impetus, not only in the ethnic logic, but also in the union with the Macedonians. As Dritan Abazović did in Montenegro, who did not depend on the votes of Albanians, but did not receive any curse because he is Albanian. On the contrary, they took it as property. That after all, before being Albanian, Xhaferi is a man and a citizen of his country. However, there is a thesis that Talati broke the ice, the ice of an Albanian prime minister.
