The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, describes the arrest on the eve of the elections as political and said that there is no official charge for his handcuffing.
In an interview from prison 313, Meta was asked about his firm attitude towards his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi, whom he refused to meet in prison even though the latter accepted to take the blame in his place.
Meta said that legal responsibilities are individual and not collective and transferable. He adds that Monika Kryemadhi's attitudes are for her personal purposes and according to Meta they do not serve her at all.
"My positions on matters of principle are firm and uncompromising. Regarding the legal responsibilities, they are individual and not collective or transferable. Her media and legal stances are part of her defense for defense and serve me no good. What serves me and what I need is the truth and it is with me" , said the head of PL for "Euronews Albania".
