Rama in Athens: I want a 4th mandate to join Albania in the EU

Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a meeting with Albanians in Athens, said that after the elections he will undertake a tour of thanks, to express gratitude to the Albanians of the diaspora who will massively vote for the Socialist Party on May 11.

Rama said he is seeking a fourth term in office to make possible the dream of Albanians, Albania's membership in the European Union.

"We will climb the last step and become one with the Europeans living in the European Union, we will sit at the EU table as equals among equals."

"Your votes are needed to make the dream of every Albanian a reality, to feel equal to every European in the EU member states," said Rama.

He said that dreams and hopes no longer seem as unattainable as they once did. “Today, Albania has its destiny in our hands, in the hands of Albanians, it is not at the mercy of anyone,” Rama said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that today Albania has a debt of around 55%, which is quite normal for a European country. "When we took office in 2013, the country was mired in debt, the roads were in disrepair, as companies were not carrying out the work because the government was not paying them and they were at risk of going bankrupt," Rama said.
