Even though he has been in power for 13 years, the prime minister has launched a campaign of dismissals in several of the country's municipalities, removing directors, deputy mayors, heads of administrative units, etc. But what has caught the eye is that the Municipality of Tirana, so far, has escaped this process.
But the calm won't last long. Rama seems to have a whole new plan for the largest municipality in the country, and the storm seems to be just around the corner.
In a post on social media, he states that a new administration scheme will be experimented in Tirana and Rama will give millions to Tony Blair to help him.

Since Veliaj's arrest, Rama has been on the offensive to take over the Municipality of Tirana. Initially, he appointed Anuela Ristan and dismissed all the directors appointed by Veliaj. Also, many directors have left in the following days, but there are undoubtedly many others in office. It seems that Rama is now preparing the "big sweep".
Today, he will gather the leaders of the municipality and the deputies of Tirana in a meeting, with a focus on the action he has started to free up public spaces. Meanwhile, the signals are that Rama may lead the Municipality of Tirana to elections, but the dismissal of Veliaj could bring a strong legal clash.
