Prime Minister Edi Rama participated this Saturday in the activity for the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party in Lezha, where he praised the role of the leading political force in transforming the country and strengthening Albania's image in the international arena.
In his speech to the Socialists, Rama admitted that the SP government has had shortcomings and mistakes, but stressed that the overall balance remains positive.
"We have many flaws, we have made many mistakes. When it comes to the big picture, it is a picture that speaks for itself. The relationship with the national interest, with history and the world speaks for itself. It is the SP in government today that has raised the heads of every Albanian wherever he is. It has turned Albania from the black sheep a decade ago into a country that is closer than ever to the realization of a historical dream," Rama declared.
The head of government also focused on the relationship with the opposition, emphasizing that the Socialists have not followed the path of political confrontation and revenge, despite the attacks that, according to him, have been made against him and his family.
"Socialists who did not join violence, pyramids and destruction and did not embody a family power over others, are united by something that is Europe in the heart and being European in the mind. Precisely because we are like that, not only have we not returned the favor to others with the same means, we have not sought ways of revenge, but we have accepted the mud that fortune has brought us every day that has risen against us. Mud towards our family, towards our children.
Have you ever seen us return to them using their house book? Never. They have left nothing unsaid about my family, about my children, about the dead in my house, but you will never hear me speak about his and their families and about the dead in their house because this is not European, this is not human. In the end, it is humanity that separates the SP from other political forces," Rama said.
The activity in Lezha took place within the framework of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Party, and was attended by local leaders, MPs and supporters of this political force.
