Although it is a fact that the IBAR report has been blocked in Brussels, Edi Rama continues to insist that there are no obstacles to negotiations.
He attacked the opposition during a speech at the Socialist Party Assembly in Lushnja, accusing it of spreading rumors and disinformation regarding the European integration process.
" Day and night, the law is made up of lies, rumors, half-lies, which is the majority, fabrications. Apart from those who have given us their votes and support, no one else forgives us and will not care about the victory we won and why they elected us. But there will be quarrels and squabbles, rumors, mud and mud. This also falls on you, those who have given us their votes. To sit and listen only to bad and bad, something happens in terms of motivation ," Rama said.
Rama accused the opposition of damaging the country's image in the international arena, specifically mentioning communication in Brussels.
" North Macedonia was almost in civil war, but the opposition did not go and curse in Brussels. Others there tell us; oh, how is it possible! Regrettably, those who have followed us do it, but in fact we do not follow them. They think they will beat us by barking in Brussels. The more they do this, the more they will sink. Not everyone will be happy that Albania is succeeding ," said Rama.
He stressed that the negotiation process with the European Union remains the government's priority, while harshly criticizing the political rhetoric that, according to him, aims to create confusion and reduce citizens' trust.
" This is the reason, but not the main motive, why we saw fit to do this campaign, we can call it communication, since the main motive is related to the moment of advancing the negotiations for membership and their closure, to be close to the people to inform about the affairs of Albania, about which Albanians see and hear little or not at all ," he declared.
