Electoral reform, Dashamir Shehi: Albania only one electoral district, don't lose votes

The head of LZHK, Dashamir Shehi, speaking about the electoral system in Albania, said that the current system is not suitable.

According to Shehi, Albania should have only one constituency.

The MP clarified that, being a small country, the division into many electoral areas causes the citizens' votes to be lost.

"First of all, the system itself, the political product of the system must be different from what it is today. I do not like it. It is a small country that is divided into 12 administrative units, electoral colleges, but you put the European name, are you saying that we are a big country.

Let's simplify this scheme and make 3-4. The constitution allows us for the benefit of the Albanians. Albanians would benefit from not losing their votes. This is simple and does not require great philosophy", said Dashamir Shehi in Euronews.
