The chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, was not present today at the meeting of the Electoral Reform Commission, as he considers him captured by the Socialist Party.
Mediu also spoke about the proposals to change the electoral system.
According to him, the premium system is a maneuver of the Socialist Party to win the elections at the table.
"The premium system is a maneuver of the Socialist Party to guarantee victory at the table, to use elements of the opposition, to guarantee a victory not for the citizens, but for the government. If you look at the action taken by the Socialist Party, it was the amendment of the Constitution after the violation of the agreement of June 5, which was made with the mediation of internationals. After the constitutional changes, the electoral code was changed with a part of the opposition in the Assembly of Albania with the idea that it would open the lists and creating a big problem with not allowing pre-election coalitions, depriving the opposition of more than 12 possible mandates", said Fatmir Mediu in Euronews.
