A report by the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) indicated that in Albania, the bribes that local and foreign businesses are forced to give to officials, has increased and expanded from the top of power to the units of small local public services.

According to the data, Albanian companies pay an average of 3.1% of their annual turnover as bribes to government officials, just to have access to public assets, as well as to avoid blackmail and unjust fines.
Currently, this figure of "bribery business" in Albania is 3.1 times higher than in 2013, when a business gave an average of 0.98% of its annual turnover as bribes to state officials, to obtain rights and public services. to have security.
According to the survey of the World Bank and the EBRD, Albania turns out to be the country with the highest percentage of bribes that state officials receive from businesses, under the pressure of administrative obstacles and favors.
Specifically, for business bribery business, Albania ranks second in the world after Zambia, where businesses give 5.6% of annual turnover as mandatory bribes; while in the third place after Albania, is Morocco, where businesses give 3% of the annual turnover as mandatory bribes; ranking that shows that in Albania the business of bribery is higher than in Morocco.
