The deputy of the Democratic Party, Tomorr Alizoti, has spoken about the clarification of the decision against Ervin Salianji.
He said that the clarification of the decision against Ervin Salianji, who is in prison, 20 days beyond the legal deadline, clearly shows that Salianji's punishment is political and not legal.
Alizoti emphasizes that this is the first case in the country that a man is punished for a false report.
"After 50 days, when the legal deadline provided for 30 days for the political prisoner, Ervin Salianji, who is an oppositionist who has never used power for a single day, has never managed power and today is in the prisons of Albania, together with incriminated people , and with people who have damaged this country and destroyed this country, the courts would need 50 days to announce its decision, when the law provided for 30 days.
The reason for the delay, the reason for the concealment where it is the first case in the Republic of Albania that a person is punished for a false report, where a false report has never happened publicly, where Mr. Salianji himself has not filed a report for the person in question it is a clear and openly political punishment.
The very fact that, after Mr. Salianji's sentence, the Prime Minister also expressed his support for this political sentence for Mr. Salianji shows that this whole issue is a genuine political sentence.
Mr. Salianji is the only person in the Republic of Albania convicted for this case, where the Court of Appeal itself has accepted that the trial in the First Instance was based on a photocopy evidence, which should not have been administered, and moreover that it was not has been subjected to a judicial debate.
Therefore, the DP demands the release of the leader of its group, who is currently in prison for more than 1 month with a genuine political punishment", said Alizoti.
