Throughout the interview, Mirel Mërtiri accused SPAK that it is the prosecutor's office that has expanded the file.
According to him, it was Klodian Braho who manipulated everything. So the gentleman in question himself did not commit any offense, but SPAK invoiced documents to hit this individual. He also brought out the washed-up government, blaming SPAK.
“It is a fictitious and incorrect file. The evidence was placed as the SPAK prosecutor wanted in order to hit my family and me for possibly personal reasons of someone else who was not in the file, or for personal and political reasons of someone else who claimed that this file was in SPAK", said Mërtiri.
Just like "Pamphlet", he tried to blame this scandal on Arben Ahmetaj, the individual who actually, unlike the others, did not sign the documents. He also defended one of the architects of the initiators, Engjëll Agaçi, the General Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office.
“Living in Albania, you will definitely have relations with Albanian politicians because it is a specific life, because we are people, we are human beings. Mr. Kelliçi, you are starting the conversation with proper names, which I have no business doing tonight. I don't use proper names for a reason. It is not correct when there are certain, diverted investigations by SPAK against my family members, it cannot happen. I'm giving you an answer now about Mr. Agaçi, I don't know him, I haven't met him, and I don't know what he does in his life," Mërtiri said on "Syri TV".
But he is not the only one. Another name that Mërtiri tried to wash out is Erion Veliaj. He refused to answer questions about getting to know Veliaj. He admitted that some companies that are building towers, he was the one who exempted them from the land fee by taking out the municipality.
“Can you keep your word. Because what you are doing is not correct to be naive. I don't ask questions about questions and I don't talk about specific names. If you want to talk to the Mayor, call the committees. Do you follow him and have you met him? Got an answer for the garden that is now looking for this answer?", he said.
