Ilir Meta continues to support Fredi Beleri and the pressures of Athens for his release from prison.
In an interview, Meta stated that the scandals are being superimposed on each other and the government survives because we are dealing with the complete capture of the state that has been carried out for a long time. He said that Beleri was kidnapped by the police, as he spoke in the Greek language regarding the alienation of properties in Himara.
" It is clear that Beleri is a political prisoner of Edi Rama. Everyone remembers Edi Rama's public threats against Beler before the elections. They all remember the calls for his persecution. He was kidnapped by the state police just 48 hours before the citizens of Himara went to the polls in the hope that they would panic and he would lose. But he also won because of the revolt of the citizens not only against this act of the government and the prime minister, to prevent Mr. Beleri from being democratically elected, but the essence of the reaction was the dissatisfaction of the residents of Himara such as the alienation of their properties from a clientelist group connected to the prime minister ," he said.
Meta went so far as to ask Greece not to focus only on Beleri, but to be more attentive and to intervene in our affairs and on other issues.
" Greece should be more attentive to the installation of the rule of law in Albania and not see this only as a violation of the rights of a representative who claims that this issue was imposed due to political circumstances or his claim to origin. But absolutely the rights of every citizen in Albania, regardless of ethnicity ," he said.
